PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock device to be activated in an earthquake, which is hardly damaged, can be simply and inexpensively manufactured, is compact in size and can be installed in a small space and has a novel structure. SOLUTION: The locking device 1 activated in an earthquake comprises a case 2 secured to a housing device main body B and a roller 20 and an engagement means 30 provided on the case 2. The roller 20 is engaged with the engagement means 30 to keep the engagement means 30 in a non-engagement position X1 while there is no earthquake, and the roller 20 is disengaged from the engagement means 30 to turn the engagement means 30 to an engagement position X2 by self-weight or a weight when an earthquake occurs. A guiding face 21 for guiding the roller 20 from a non-engagement position Y1 to an engagement position Y2 to the engagement means 30 is formed in the bottom wall 6 of the case 2.
