PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projector incorporating a negative ion generator without making an internal structure complex by using a high voltage generating circuit both for lighting a lamp and for generating a negative ion, and designed so as to be easy to use without involving a special operation. SOLUTION: The image projector includes: the lamp 3 for emitting light for image projection; a fan 4 for sending a flow of cooling air to the lamp 3; the high voltage generating circuit 14 for lighting the lamp 3. In the image projector, the negative ion generator 11 is disposed in a path F along which a flow of air is sent by the fan 4. The high voltage generating circuit 14 for lighting the lamp 3 is used as a power source for the negative ion generator 11. In addition, the switching of output from the high voltage generating circuit 14 is controlled by a control section 16 comprising a microcomputer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
