PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reagent for measuring calcium in a bio-sample, and a measuring method. SOLUTION: Calcium in the bio-sample is reacted with chlorophosphoazo-III or a similar compound thereof in the presence of vanadate ions and calcium in the sample is measured on the basis of the optical change due to the reaction product. Since this calcium measuring method can be adapted to an autoanalyzer without causing the carbon dioxide absorbing problem caused by high pH and a problem using a toxic reagent originating from arsenic and a specimen blank is low, this calcium measuring method has a wide measurable range and is excellent from various aspects.
