<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate the data of secondary color without lowering the processing rate as a whole even if a system of inferior processing rate is employed in image processing for generating secondary color data. <P>SOLUTION: Data of inks C, M, Y, K and R being employed in a printer are generated based on C, M, Y and K data through plane enlargement processing (S805). In other words, data of M, Y and R are generated anew by utilizing the data of M and Y. When both data of M and Y are each 1 or above, R data of these values are generated and the remainder after conversion into the R data become new data of M and Y. Since conversion is carried out with minimum number of planes and plane enlargement is performed in color conversion processing (S803, S804), load on quantization processing can be lessened even when inks of larger number of colors than that of the planes is employed in color conversion processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
