<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive discharge lamp lighting device in which a light control of a multiphase method is carried out by a single control circuit without increasing the number of circuit components. <P>SOLUTION: In this discharge lamp lighting device 10, one end of a secondary side of a step-up transformer 3 is connected to one end side of discharge lamps 5a, 5b via variable inductance elements 4A, 4B, and a tube current detecting part 6 connected to a tube current control circuit 7 is connected to the other end side of the discharge lamps 5a, 5b, and furthermore, a switch Q6 is installed at the front stage part of the tube current control circuit 7, an output signal of a phase adjustment circuit 8 is connected to a connection midpoint of the tube current detecting part 6 and the tube current control circuit 7 via the switch Q6, and a tube current of the discharge lamps 5a, 5b is controlled by making inductance of the variable inductance elements 4A, 4B variable by the output signal in which the phase from the tube current control circuit 7 has been shifted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
