PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the strength of a hydrogen permeable separation material being a constituent element, excellent in pressure resistance, heat resistance and processability and enhanced in strength to further reduce its thickness and to achieve the reduction of cost, an increase in hydrogen permeation speed and the enhancement of the concentration of hydrogen due to the reduction of pinholes. SOLUTION: The hydrogen permeable separation material 1 is constituted by diffusing and joining a hydrogen permeable separation membrane 3, which has a multilayered structure rolled after a Pd layer 8, a Ta layer 9 and a Pd outer layer 10 all of which are extremely reduced in the number of pinholes, to one side of a porous metal 2 having communication pores. This hydrogen permeable separation material 1 is permeable to hydrogen of high concentration, is rich in processability, enhanced in strength to be made usable as a membrane, low in cost and has a high hydrogen permeation speed.
