PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal transmission apparatus for digital audio capable of transmitting a digital audio signal rising or falling in a short time with low noise and sharp edges. SOLUTION: The signal transmission apparatus 10 for transmitting the digital audio signal transmitted from a transmitter 1 to a D/A converter 2 provided to a digital receiver, is provided with: a transmitter main body 100 including an input buffer circuit 110 having a waveform shaping function and an output buffer circuit 120 and operated by a prescribed DC power supply 130; a coaxial cable 200 for an output extracted from the output side of the transmitter main body 100 and connected to the D/A converter 2, a coaxial cable having a high conductor resistance and constituted of stainless steel wire or a Nichrome wire is employed for the coaxial cable 200 for the output, and the voltage of a pulse waveform-shaped by the input buffer circuit 110 is stepped down to an original input voltage by using the conductor resistance and the resulting pulse is transmitted to the D/A converter 2.
