PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve access performance in a logical disk management method and a method for it for managing a logical disk constructed by using a storage area of at least one disk drive and recognized by a host computer. SOLUTION: An array/slice definition part 121a divides one continuous area, which is at least one array defined as a single area connecting storage areas of at least one disk drive, by a fixed capacity to construct at least one array consisting of a set of slices defined as the divided areas. A logical disk definition part 121b constructs at least one logical disk by combining a plurality of optional slices included in an optional array among at least one array. A slice displacement part 121c replaces the optional first slice entered to an optional logical disc among at least one logical disk by a second slice not entered to any logical disk.
