PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable and inexpensive compressor capable of preventing lowering or unstability of cooling performance of the compressor caused by a partial contact abrasion between a piston and a bore hole, especially in low speed rotation. SOLUTION: The piston 150 reciprocates in the bore hole formed in a cylinder block, a length of a side surface 160 on a compression load side is longer than a length of a side surface 170 on a counter-compression load side, and a sliding area on the compression load side is larger than a sliding area on the counter-compression load side.
