MATRIX FOR DELIMITING THE FILLING SPACE IN THE FIELD OF DENTISTRY AND METHOD FOR FILLING A CAVITY OF A TOOTH

The inventive matrix is produced, at least in areas, from a stretchable and deformable material. In order to fill a cavity (37), the matrix is placed onto this cavity whereby sealing the lateral edges (38) of the cavity (37) so that the fixing cement and filling material cannot escape when filling the cavity (37). The eliminates complicated work required for removing excessive fixing cement and filling material. When filling the cavity (37), the matrix is arched between said edges (38) according to the anatomy of the tooth, and thus imitates the original shape of the tooth with convex approximal surfaces and contact surfaces with regard to the adjacent tooth as well as the anatomical reconstruction of the marginal ridge of the tooth.
