<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct an FTTH (Fiber To The Home) system, a CATV (Cable Television) system, and a building community reception system as one system. <P>SOLUTION: This optical transmission system is provided with: a transmitter section 1 modulating a first electrical signal at a 70-770 MHz band of a CATV, and a second electrical signal of a BS-IF (Base Station-Intermediate Frequency) signal output from a BS antenna, or a CS-IF (Communication Satellite-Intermediate Frequency) signal output from a CS antenna into a first and a second light signal; an optical transmission line 2 consisting of an optical fiber transmitting a light signal formed by multiplexing the first and the second light signal in the transmission section 1; an optical amplifier 3 provided in the midway of the optical transmission line 2 and amplifying the multiplexed light signal; and a receiver section 4 demodulating the light signal sent from the optical amplifier 3 into the first and the second electrical signal. The transmitter section 1 is provided with: an external light modulator 11 modulating the first electrical signal into the first light signal; a direct light modulator 12 modulating the second electrical signal into the second light signal; and an optical multiplexer 13 composed of an optical coupler or the like multiplexing the first light signal output from the external light modulator 11 and the second light signal output from the direct light modulator 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
