<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a system for selling publication data using the same mechanism as that used when a user purchases a paper book after confirming the content by browsing the book in a bookstore. <P>SOLUTION: When a data identifying the publication selected by a customer from a display operation section of an electronic publication sales terminal 4 installed in a shop having a clerk is transmitted to a sales server 2 installed in a publication sales center 1, the sales server 2 reads out the entire pages of the publication data corresponding to the data identifying the above publication from a database 3, and transmits the above publication data to the electronic publication sales terminal 2. Then, the electronic publication sales terminal 2 enables the above publication data to be read for the entire pages, using the display operation section. In case that the customer orders the publication after reading, the charge is settled.
