<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a gradation characteristic about luminance of a display image to be properly adjusted in accordance with features of the image. <P>SOLUTION: A feature information acquisition part of a luminance gradation correction part acquires minimum luminance, average luminance, and maximum luminance from an input image signal per image on one screen. A correction information determination part determines correction information for correcting the gradation characteristic about luminance per image on one screen in accordance with combination of the acquired minimum luminance, average luminance, and maximum luminance. A luminance gradation correction processing part sets a polynomial function on the basis of the correction information per image on one screen and corrects the gradation characteristic about the luminance by arithmetic processing using the polynomial function. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
