The motor has a full bridge circuit for controlling current in a stator winding arrangement (102). Two semiconductor switches (114, 130 ,132, 136) are respectively connected with two direct current-supply lines (116, 122) in the full bridge circuit. Comparators (202) monitor direction of the current, which flows in the switches (132, 136), if the switches (132, 136) are conductive during a given operating condition.
