<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for improving efficiency of fractional recovery of a cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: According to one aspect of this invention, this cartridge is used for supplying a fuel of a fuel cell. The cartridge is provided with: a fuel chamber used for storing the fuel and having a fuel supply port for supplying the fuel to a positive electrode of the fuel cell; and a fuel pressurization means installed in the fuel chamber for increasing the pressure of the fuel in the fuel chamber for supplying the fuel to the positive electrode through the fuel supply port when the fuel is necessary. The cartridge for supplying the fuel of the fuel cell is provided with a mechanism for changing the outline volume of the cartridge in response to a change of a volume of the fuel in the fuel chamber.
