<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fuel cell which can prevents oxidation deterioration of a catalyst of a cathode even when a large amount of air enters instantaneously at the time of storage, and furthermore, in which the performance is not deteriorated even if starting, stopping, and storage are repeated in operation. <P>SOLUTION: As an operation method of the fuel cell, a fuel gas containing hydrogen is supplied to an anode and an oxidizer gas is supplied to a cathode, and after carrying out power generation by connecting an external load between the anode and the cathode, the external load is cut off, and a resistance is connected between the anode and the cathode, then the supply of the oxidizer gas is stopped. When the potential of the cathode has become the generation potential or less of hydrogen, supply of the fuel gas is stopped and the fuel cell is stored. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
