摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device which reduces optical loss related to optical signal transmission such as in a backplane. <P>SOLUTION: The optical device that conducts optical interconnection between two or more N electric elements has a slab wave guide having a core layer for transmitting light beams to multiple directions, multiple N receiving ports and multiple sending ports. Each receiving port is allocated to each electric element and optically connected with the core layer of the slab wave guide. Multiple light beams are received from each sending ports and the related electric elements and the received light beams are sent to the receiving ports through the slab wave guide. Each receiving port is configured to receive multiple light beams sent from at least two different sending ports through the slab wave guide.
