PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bonnet operating device for an industrial vehicle in which any exposed member is not present in any stepped part or a driver's seat, and an engaging/disengaging means can be directly disengaged. SOLUTION: An openable/closable and oscillating bonnet 22 is provided on a floor board 20 on a vehicle body 2 side, and a link lever type engaging/disengaging means 30 is provided between the bonnet 22 and the vehicle body 2 side. An operation hole 21 is formed in the floor board 20 facing an operation lever 41 of the engaging/disengaging means 30. A part 25a of a floor mat 25 to be installed on the floor board 20 is formed to open/close an upper portion of the operation hole 21. When the engaging/disengaging means is in an engaged posture, the upper portion of the operation hole can be covered by a part of the floor mat, and any contact with an operator or other objects can be eliminated since no exposed member is present. When the bonnet is opened, the upper portion of the operation hole can be opened by moving a part of the floor mat upwardly, the engagement by the engaging/disengaging means can be disengaged by operating the operation lever through the operation hole, the engaging/disengaging means can be directly disengaged, and the entire structure can be simplified.
