PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify the positional relationship of an obstacle to one's own vehicle and give a warning to the driver and the like. SOLUTION: An obstacle detector receives using receiving antennas 1a, 1b, 1c radio waves sent from a mobile terminal 2, the antennas being installed in different locations in order to detect obstacles around the one's own vehicle 1. A wave phase comparison circuit 12 calculates a phase difference between the radio waves. Once a computer 13 specifies the positional relationship of the mobile terminal 2 to the one's own vehicle 1 based on the result of the phase comparison, the mobile terminal 2 that becomes an obstacle to the one's own vehicle 1 is detected based on the detected positional relationship of the mobile terminal 2 to the one's own vehicle 1 and is reported using a warning display part 14.
