PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a posture with high accuracy even if the posture widely varies. SOLUTION: This posture measurement method uses a three-dimensional arrangement type GPS receiver with four GPS antennas 40 to 43 arranged in three dimensions at vertex positions of a polyhedron for measuring the posture of the GPS receiver from baseline vectors constituting any virtual surface. Phase information on GPS carriers from at least four satellites is acquired by the respective GPS antennas to find a double phase difference from the phase information on the GPS carriers from the four satellites received by any three GPS antennas. Three or more baseline vectors between the GPS antennas are calculated while acquiring two baseline vector values out of them as posture values of the GPS receiver. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
