<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The digital TV has a demultiplexing unit to receive a broadcast signal of a selected channel. A control unit (27) outputs message display video information stored in a memory to a video/audio processing unit. The processing unit displays a channel switch notice message on a display unit prior to the channel switch. The control unit switches the selected channel if a broadcast of the selected channel ends or interrupted. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method of switching a channel of a display device. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for broadcasting an additional data along with an audio and a video data to provide viewers with variety of services. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The control unit enables the video/audio processing unit to display a channel switch notice message on the display unit prior to the switching of the channel, thereby eliminating the confusion resulting from a channel switch that the viewer fails to recognize.
