TRAY FOR HARD DISK HEAD ARM, AND ITS METHOD OF MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy manufactured less-expensive tray for a hard disk head and its method of manufacture capable of preventing any occurrence of scar or deformation even if the head arm is formed by an ultra-thin metallic plate, further restricting its motion, storing and holding it under a stable state.

SOLUTION: This is a tray 6 having a recess 12 for arranging and storing a head arm 1 formed by an ultra-thin type metallic plate while its motion is being restricted. The recess 12 is constituted such that soft resin material is integrally molded through its injection molding against a base block 8 molded by hard resin material, comprises supporting surfaces 28a, 28b supporting the lower surface of the head arm 1 under its close contacted state, and an engaging part 36 engaged with a part of the head arm 1. Motion during its transportation is restricted and vibration generated during its transportation is absorbed with soft resin material to prevent either occurrence of scar or deformation to enable a less-expensive product to be easily manufactured.
