<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar light source easy to assemble, of which, an upper face of a reflection sheet is led to a prescribed position on a light guide plate without restriction of movement such as being hooked on a corner part of a front case. <P>SOLUTION: A reflection sheet contact part 20 convex toward the back face of a front case 6 is arranged on an upper face 61 of the front case 6, and an apex part 201 of the reflection sheet contact part 20 is made to contact an upper face 53 of a reflection sheet 5.
