PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of an embroidery sewing product by reducing thread cutting mistake in an embroidery sewing machine with an automatic thread cutting mechanism. SOLUTION: This embroidery sewing machine is provided with a lifting actuator liftingly driving a presser bar attached with a presser foot, the automatic thread cutting mechanism cutting at least a needle thread, and a control means controlling the lifting actuator, during the embroidery sewing operation, to retain the presser foot at a position separating a predetermined small distance upward from a machining cloth and controlling the lifting actuator, at least in cutting the thread, to push the working cloth with the presser foot by interlocked with the thread cutting operation of the automatic thread cutting mechanism.
