PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic packaging machine, provided with an automatic junction mechanism (automatic jointing machine) without requiring a vacuum device to reduce cost on facilities and maintenance. SOLUTION: The junction mechanism 62 for this automatic packaging machine 10 comprises a pair of rotary bodies 70A and 70B, chuck mechanisms 80A and 80B to selectively take a closure position to hold tips of packaging sheets 16A and 16B placed on large diameter pars 74A and 74B of the rotary bodies and an open position not to hold them, and actuation mechanisms 108A, 108B, 110A, 110B, 114A, and 114B interlocked with diametric action of follower members 116A and 116B to move the chuck mechanisms between the closure position and the open position.
