PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a tailored tube not having a weld starting point and a weld ending point, where welding defects are often generated, without requiring high accuracy of butting. SOLUTION: A first blank material W<SB>1</SB>is formed by butting ends of a plurality of kinds of flat plate 1, 2 and welding the ends from a starting edge 4a through an ending edge 4b. Second blanks W<SB>2</SB>are cut out from the part that is a part except the part including the starting edge 4a and the ending edge 4b of a weld line 3 of the first blank material W<SB>1</SB>.
