PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injecting unit for metal material and an injection-forming method with which a formed product excellent in the quality can be molded, with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: In the injection-forming method for metal material, a plurality of bar-like metal materials M1 or M2 are inserted into a heating cylinder 12 and sequentially melted from the bar-like metal material M1 or M2 at the front side to form molten material M3, and the molten material M3 is injected into a metallic mold 13 by pushing the rear end of the bar-like metal material M1 or M2 at the rear part with a plunger 25, wherein the position A of a plunger after injecting, is detected, and the bar-like metal material M1 or M2 is supplied toward the heating cylinder 12 by using a supplying mechanism 15 so that the total value C added up to the detected value becomes to the prescribed range D.
