MULTI-WAVELENGTH SIGNAL GENERATION DEVICE AND MULTI-WAVELENGTH LIGHT GENERATION METHOD

There is provided a multi-wavelength signal generation device capable of
generating light having a plenty of wavelengths and a multi-wavelength light
generation method using the multi-wavelength signal generation device. The
multi-wavelength signal generation device includes a light comb generator for
acquiring an input light and a light group shifted by a predetermined
frequency from the input light, and a light adjusting unit for adjusting the
light coming into the light comb generator. The light comb generator is formed
by an optical fiber loop (105) having a light SSB modulator (101), a light
amplifier (102) for compensating the conversion loss in the light SSB
modulator, a light input port (103) via which the light from the light source
is inputted, and a light output port (104) for outputting the light. The light
adjusting unit includes a phase modulator, an intensity modulator or a
frequency modulator.
