Device for contamination testing of containers continuously moving on a rotary table (4), has a sampling head (6) for injecting gas via a lance (18) and collecting displaced gas via a suction line (20), which has a sealing gasket (6b), and is independently mounted to allow the head to engage with the container opening and, to travel the same locus, for a limited period. An independent claim is included for testing by using an air-injecting/ sample collecting head synchronized to travel with the moving container during the sampling interval, and with the head having a resilient seal engaging the mouth of the container.
