Detecting the wear of a motor drive

The method involves detecting a wear parameter representing the abrasion of the carbon brushes of an electric motor, in dependence on a speed parameter representing the rotation speed of the motor. Critical wear of the brushes is detected when the wear parameter exceeds or falls under a threshold. An independent claim is included for an apparatus for detecting wear of a motor drive.
