Method for localising a mobile terminal in a non-synchronized mobile network

The method involves measuring differences of travel time between signals transmitted by base stations (BTS) of a network and received by a mobile terminal (MS). A position of the terminal is deducted from the time differences, based on differences of travel time previously measured by the terminal for the same base stations in a reference zone (1) and a corresponding position of the terminal determined in the zone. An independent claim is also included for a mobile terminal.
