Process for manufacturing organic silicon compounds

A method for the production of high-purity polyorgano-sil(ox)anes by platinum-catalysed hydrosilylation of olefinic compounds, involves using a zero-valent platinum complex catalyst which, before addition to the reaction mixture, is dissolved in a solvent and mixed with an effective amount of 2-6C unsaturated hydrocarbon(s). - Independent claims are also included for - (1) a method for activating Pt0 complex catalysts by treating a solution of the catalyst with a 2-6C unsaturated hydrocarbon - (2) activated Pt0 complex catalysts obtained by this method.
