A scientific article is displayed as three frames, a title frame 2, a text frame 3, and a figures and tables frame 4, in a browser window 1. The title frame 2 displays bibliographic information for the article in question. The text frame 3 is used to display the text of each section of the article. The figures frame 4 is used to display the figures, tables and any other non-text items of the article. Links are provided in the text frame 3 that, when clicked, will display the appropriate figure or table in the figures and tables frame 4. The frames may be resized or change resolution according to system or user requirements. Links may be provided within the text to reference, which may be displayed as pop-up boxes.
