PURPOSE: A method of making a healthy and functional food composition by extracting Coriolus versicolor, Salviae Radix, Puerariae Radix, Cnidii Rhizoma, Flos Carthami and Crataegi Fructus in one solvent is provided. The composition is excellent for lowering total cholesterol levels, triglyceride levels and HDL-cholesterol levels. CONSTITUTION: The healthy and functional food composition contains 35.0 to 55.0% by weight of Coriolus versicolor, 10.0 to 30.0% by weight of Salviae Radix, 10.0 to 20.0% by weight of Puerariae Radix, 1.0 to 10.0% by weight of Cnidii Rhizoma, 1.0 to 10.0% by weight of Flos Carthami and 5.0 to 15.0% by weight of Crataegi Fructus. The components are obtained by extracting in one solvent of water, ethanol or a mixture thereof at 110 to 130deg.C for 2 to 3hr in an autoclave, concentrating, freeze drying and then spray drying. |
