R : 1-10C alkyl or 1-10C alkenyl, 5-10C cycloalkyl, phenyl, 2-ethoxyethyl, 3-methoxybutyl, arene (optionally substituted by alkyl) or -C(R1>)(R2>)-COOR'' (preferably ethyl); R1> and R2>H, ethyl, propyl or butyl; R'' : Aa, 1-10C alkyl, 1-10C alkenyl, or 3-10C cycloalkyl; AaT or halo-substituted compounds of T; T : phenyl, benzyl, methylbenzyl or phenylbenzyl. #CMT#ACTIVITY : #/CMT# Virucide; Vulnerary; Antipsoriatic; Dermatological. #CMT#MECHANISM OF ACTION : #/CMT# None given. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# In the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of diseases manifesting themselves in and/or damaging cutaneous tissue e.g. virus infections (caused by herpes simplex 1, or 2, herpes zoster or papilloma virus), which cause wounds including acute or chronic wounds covered by especially black and yellow crusts; or exanthema in human or animal dermal or mucous tissue and wounds requiring revision. The exanthema includes skin exanthema ((e.g. psoriasis exanthema) caused by fungal infections due to Trichophyton, Epidermophyton, Candida (e.g. Candida albicans), Torulosis, Cryptococcus, Pityrosporon (e.g. Pityriasis versicolor) and Trochosporon)), atopic exanthema, seborrhoeic exanthema, discoid exanthema, allergic contact dermatitis and irritation contact dermatitis. (I) is also useful for applying in the area at the wound edges of a wound requiring suturing for forming gripping flaps for maintaining contact between wound edges during suturing (all claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The medicament removes undesired elements from a wound or a skin area. The medicament is an attractive alternative to existing medicaments without known side effects. The medicament is simple to use and the treatment is often short and easily done by the person himself. The polymer coat is almost invisible and therefore does not disfigure the patient's appearance. The treatment is quick, less expensive and does not cause painful nuisances to the patient. The medicament can be used by children, expectant and breast-feeding mothers. #CMT#PHARMACEUTICALS : #/CMT# Preferred Medicament: At least one (I) polymerizes upon contact with human, moist, dermal tissue or humane, moist mucosa. The medicament further comprises at least one additive selected from a stabilizer for preventing the medicament from polymerizing spontaneously during storage, agents for accelerating the polymerization reaction, or a neutral colorant. The stabilizer has a pH of = 7 and is neutralized upon contact with moisture. The medicament is a liquid or a gel. #CMT#ORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# The agent for accelerating the polymerization reaction is an alkane, ketone or 1-10C alcohol. #CMT#EXAMPLE : #/CMT# Patients suffering from latent herpes simplex virus (HSV)-1 infection around the mouth were treated with liquid LOCTITE 411 (ethyl cyanoacrylate) (1/3 drop) and the polymerization was allowed to pass off. The ethyl cyanoacrylate coat was removed after treatment overnight and no patients developed visible blisters or wounds.
