The invention relates to a method for producing a package of firewood logs, where the package comprises logs (2) and the wrapping material (3) surrounding them and a straining element (4) such as tightened cord, band or ribbon for holding the logs (2) and the wrapping material (3) together. According to the invention first the logs (2) are laid side by side in the same direction into the auxiliary frame between four erect parallel corner supports (5) parallel with the bottom of the auxiliary frame. Around the auxiliary frame filled with the laid logs (2) and around the said corner supports (5) a packaging material (3) is wrapped so, that the wrapping material extends in the upper part of the auxiliary frame beyond the ends of the corner supports (5). Next the wrapping material extending beyond the corner supports is folded onto the logs laid into the auxiliary frame so as to form the bottom of the package. In the next stage the wrapping material and the logs are secured with the straining element, which is pulled around the package to be prepared, over two opposite sides and between the logs and the auxiliary frame, whereas the ends of straining element are connected together. Next the auxiliary frame (10) is removed from the package (1). |
