The method involves obtaining a sequence of monoscopic images captured by an image acquisition apparatus according to an acquisition mode permitting capture of multiple images during a regular movement tangential to a plane of a lens of the apparatus. Pairs of images coming from the sequence are formed based on a preset time slot that is function of speed of acquisition of the images. A stereoscopic signal is constructed from the pairs. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a device for obtaining a stereoscopic signal from a sequence of monoscopic images (B) a computer readable medium for implementing a method of obtaining a stereoscopic signal (C) a computer program product having instructions for implementing a method of obtaining a stereoscopic signal.
