The bowl (1) of a kitchen appliance can be covered in a liquid-tight manner by means of advantageous components. A cover (2) is provided, comprising a covering section (7). The diameter of the covering section (7) is smaller than that of the bowl (1) such that a ring-shaped gap (13) is produced. The covering section (7) is at least sectionally inclined in a radial manner from the top to the bottom. As a result, liquid which penetrates into the gap (13) can flow back into the centre of the bowl (1).
