A method for improved torque transfer control in a double clutch transmission, e.g. with parallel clutches, has the main torque transfer via the active clutch and a fine torque adjustment via the inactive clutch. The overall torque control is a combination of both clutches and enables a fine control of the total clutch slip. This provides, e.g. an improved isolation of motor vibration from the rest of the power train.
