<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer membrane-electrode assembly safe at high temperature, excellent in hydrogen ion conductivity and mechanical strength, enabling a fuel cell to operate without humidification at high temperature, and to provide a fuel cell including the same. <P>SOLUTION: The polymer membrane-electrode assembly comprises an anode electrode and a cathode electrode composed of a catalyst layer and an electrode supporter; and a polymer membrane arranged between the anode electrode and the cathode electrode, and the polymer membrane contains polyphenylenevinylene group polymer having side chain containing hydrogen ion conductive functional group. the polymer membrane is safe at high temperature, excellent in hydrogen ion conductivity and mechanical strength, and enables the fuel cell to operate without humidification at high temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
