摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for overcoming constraints in an interface stage between a first separation step and the following separation step, without being accompanied by conventional drawbacks, and to provide an interface between a reverse-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC) separation and a capillary electrophoresis (CE) separation, following the RPLC separation. <P>SOLUTION: A two-dimensional separation apparatus for a complex analysis mixture, such as peptide for example, is equipped with a 1st separation apparatus for the 1st-dimensional separation and a 2nd separation apparatus for the 2nd-dimensional separation. A condensing zone is arranged in the interface region between the 1st apparatus and the 2nd apparatus, wherein individual sample fractions or components flowing out from the 1st apparatus, before being introduced into the 2nd apparatus, are condensed respectively. The condensing zone is defined in a segment between two or more electrodes disposed, in the direction in which a sample or the sample fraction to be separated flows. Condensing is carried out, by applying voltage whose polarity is reverse to that of the charge of fraction components, across two electrodes, with a sufficient power to overcome dragging forces of hydrodynamic flows.
