PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation button locking mechanism for a gas cooking stove having an operation button and an air hole arranged in a front panel, effectively preventing an appearance from being impaired by the air hole. SOLUTION: A plate slider 15 for sliding in a horizontal direction has an engaging portion 15c. When the slider 15 slides to a lock side, the engaging portion 15c engages with an engaged portion 14a of a push plate 14 mounted on an ignition/extinction button 7 to lock the ignition/extinction button 7. When the slider 15 slides to an unlock side, the engagement is cancelled to unlock the ignition/extinction button 7. The locking mechanism in this construction has the slider 15 provided apart from the air hole 12 inside a cooking stove body and arranged so that the plate face of the slider 15 hides the air hole 12.
