PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method for a drift pin, a timber joint structure, and the drift pin capable of reducing physical load on a worker engaged in driving, eliminating the occurrence of uncomfortable impact noise specific to hammering, and easily increasing the strength of a joint part by increasing the outer peripheral size of the drift pin. SOLUTION: In this driving method using a pipe-shaped drift pin 3, a bar material 4 is passed through the shaft hole 3a of the drift pin 3 and the prepared hole 1b of a wooden beam 1 in a state of being passed through and projected from both ends thereof. First and second stoppers 5 and 7 are fitted to both projected ends of the bar material 4. The drift pin 3 is separated from the second stopper 7 by a jack 6 with a center hole to advance the drift pin 3 into the prepared hole. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
