PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stainless steel for an inner tube of an exhaust manifold, which presents superior scale-exfoliating resistance in a long period of repeated use at 850 to 900°C. SOLUTION: The austenitic stainless steel for the inner side of the dual structure exhaust manifold comprises, by mass%, 0.08% or less C, 1.5-3% Si, 2% or less Mn, 0.04% or less P, 0.01% or less S, 8-10% Ni, 17-19% Cr, 0.2% or less N, 0.3% or less Nb, less than 0.08% Al, one or more elements among 0.05-0.5% Ti, 0.05-0.5% Mo, 0.05-0.5% Cu, 0.05-0.5 V, 0.05-0.5% W and 0.05-0.5% Zr, as needed, further REM, Y and Ca in a total amount of 0.005-0.1%, as needed, and the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities, while satisfying a predetermined limitation formula.
