A disk recording medium (100) is provided with a protect mark area (301) on its main face (e.g., a label face). The protect mark area (301) includes at least one protect mark cell (302), i.e., an area for setting the write protection of the disk recording medium. The protect mark cell (302) can be set in two states of different optical characteristics, on the basis of which the write protection of the disk recording medium (100) is set. The protect mark cell (302) can be set in the state for setting the write protection, by coloring it with a writing implement or by covering it with a cover member.
