<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forming method of a catalyst layer for a solid polymer fuel cell electrode which is made of a mixture of an ion exchange resin, carbon, and a catalyst metal, and in which the catalyst metal is carried selectively on the contact face of the proton conductive passage of anion exchange and the carbon surface, wherein the current value per platinum 1 g carried by the electrode is improved. <P>SOLUTION: The forming method of a catalyst layer of a solid polymer fuel cell electrode comprises a first process in which a mixture including a solvent containing propanol and water, a cation exchange resin, and carbon particles is formed, a second process of removing the solvent from the mixture, a third process in which a cation containing a catalyst metal element is adsorbed in the cation exchange resin by an ion exchange reaction of a counter ion of the cation exchange resin in the mixture removed of the solvent and the cation containing the catalyst metal element, and a fourth process in which the cation containing the catalyst metal element in the mixture obtained by the third process is chemically reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
