PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element which can be connected through a linear conductor circuit of equal length when connected to another electronic component, and is suitably used for an optical communication device etc.

SOLUTION: The optical element comprises one or more unit elements each having a plurality of external electrodes formed on one main surface, the plurality of external electrodes are formed in the optical element to unevenly be distributed in one of areas across a center line equally bisecting the plane shape of one main surface of each unit element in plan view of the one main surface of the unit element.
