<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric steering lock device which has a simple structure, can be miniaturized, and allows a lock bolt to be moved again to a lock position after it is stopped during its operation and the lock bolt to be pulled out of a shaft when a setting torque is still acting on the shaft. <P>SOLUTION: In the electric steering lock device 10, cam grooves 50 are formed on the outer circumferential surface of a columnar portion 46 of the lock bolt 44, the cam grooves 50 being slant circumferentially of the columnar portion 46. The steering lock device 10 is provided with a cylindrical rotor 26 driven by a electric motor 16 to rotate, and the columnar portion 46 of the lock bolt 44 is arranged inside the rotor 26, where the columnar portion 46 made capable of moving axially of the rotor 26. Cam followers 32, which are held in vertical slots 30 of the rotor 26, are made to move in the cam grooves 50, respectively, to move the lock bolt 44. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
