<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide area server selection and reception control system, method and program capable of reducing installation cost, and installation and operation by securing service quality in wide area server selection control and reducing load to a network by a probe packet. <P>SOLUTION: Between a user terminal 2 and service providing servers 4 and 5, a transmitting side continuously transmits probe packets through a network 3, receiving side uses a delay characteristic of the continuously received probe packets to calculate an end-to-end available band on a network path between the user terminal and the service providing servers, and a reception control server receives a service request from the user terminal, compares a calculation result of the end-to-end available band with a required band of a requested service, selects a service providing server for the service request from the user terminal and determines to receive the service request. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
