PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polygon scanner motor wherein effective use and reuse of a space is made by reducing the number of its components, thinning its shape, and reducing its size. SOLUTION: In the polygon scanner motor, projections 12 are installed at several places in the bore of a mirror holding spring 10, a few vertical grooves 13 and one horizontal groove 14 are provided in a boss 2 for the purpose of passing the projections through. The bore of the polygon mirror is inserted into the inserting part of the boss, the projections 12 of the mirror holding spring 10 is fitted to the vertical grooves 13 of the boss, and the mirror holding spring 10 is pressed against the polygon mirror 5 using a prescribed tool. The polygon mirror 5 is held by the elasticity of the mirror holding spring 10, the mirror 10 is rotated in this state. This structure moves the projections 12 of the mirror holding spring 10 from the vertical grooves 13 to the horizontal groove 14, removing the load of the prescribed tool, and thereby making the polygon mirror fixed at a specific position by a prescribed pressurizing force.
